Why not fit a 22mm x 15mm compression reducing coupler then fit a 15mm x 1/2" flexi.

My advice would be to buy bath taps for your bath because bath taps are 3/4" BSP thread and you'll have no trouble getting the right connectors.

1/2" bath taps?!?!?!?!

Missing something? I think you are missing the few quid difference between the price of the 1/2" basin taps you were supplied and the 3/4" bath taps you paid for.
In 40 years of selling taps I have never seen a pair of 1/2" bath taps or a 1/2" bath filler or bath/shower mixer.

What make and model, and where were they purchased from?

thanks for all your help. Been in touch with the bathstore where i bought them from and it seems that old stock of the taps i bought have 1/2 bsp fitting and new stock have 3/4 bsp fittings. It seems i had old stock taps with a new manual. Should have got a conversion fitting for taps taking them from 1/2 iich to 3/4 inch. They are sending them out straight away. On the bright side they know me by name at screwfix ive been back and forward that many times. Thanks to all and a merry xmas :p :D

Bovine excrement! They're probably sending you a couple of 3/4 x 1/2" brass bushes.
Never have been, never will be 1/2" bath taps with converrters to 3/4".
Bath taps are 3/4", period.

A 3/4" tap tail will never fit through a 3/4" hole. Pipe fitting thread sizes refer to the bore of the pipe that's threaded, not the size of the thread itself.

Allowing for the wall thickness of the pipe, a 1/2" thread is about 3/4" diameter, and a 3/4" thread is about 1" diameter
