Hi, anyone know where I can get my hands on a thermal cutout / fusible link for an oldish (10+ years) Heatstore night storage heater? The biggest problem is Unidare seem to use the same code for the fusible link. I know some companies manufacture stuff under two brand names but I'm still in two minds about trying the unidare one and would rather find a heatstore replacement.

Yeah you guessed it the turn in the weather had finally inspired me to go out and fix it.

Failing that I'm half tempted to get a 15A thermal fuse from RS, no idea what temperature though

Newey And Eyre wholesalers do these items to order, they are on their computer system.

You may have an olde worlde local electrical hardware store that specialises in things like heating elements. They should be able to sell you exactly what you want. Look for old blokes behind the counter wearing brown coats!

Trouble is, they sell replacement parts for heaters built in the 50's LOL

If they do have what ya want, it will be soo dusty and over priced :)

Thanks for the info Lectrician.

Sadly the ye olde worlde electrical hardware stores seem to be a rare breed nowadays. Went to one that I'd been using on and off for years a while back only to find out they'd shut down without a trace :(

There's one in my town that I use from time to time and they are spot on. Lectrician's right though, they will charge you. But then again Newey & Eyre will ignore you for ten minutes then look down their nose at you unless you're spending thousands. Dignity at a price, or humility at a discount... take your pick!
