Thermostat location

Where is the best place to locate a thermostat upstairs for rads?

Downstairs will have underfloor heating.

Would a bedroom be ok as landing subject to drafts etc from front door.

Usually the hall is preferred precisely because it is subject to these drafts and will respond quicker before the cold air gets to the bedrooms.

Just a point, Building Regs state the "switch" must be installed above 450mm and below 1200mm from the floor level. If you mark those heights on the wall they look strange. Thankfully most manufacturers override this by recommending 1500mm so that we can argue loudly with the Building Inspectors

What about not having a thermostat at all upstairs. Just having thermostatic valves on rads?
