I have a baxi solo wm 50/4 boiler the problem that started last night
Was I had hot water but no CH. I Am thinking it is the three way
Valve when on auto with just CH on nothing happens if you turn on the hot water
As well that fires up and heats the water. The only way to the get CH though not that warm to work is to pull The little switch to Manuel on the valve where I get both CH and HW the valve is only a Year old does this sound like faulty valve to you guys or something else
Thanks

just bought new valve same as old one changed top bit power going to valve still same problem hot water ok no central heating unless use manual overide on valve

Is there 230v ac at the white wire from midposition valve with programmer on heating and roomstat turned up so it calls for heat?

No? ; trace back 'till you find the break.

yes? check that with hot water off at the programmer there is 230v at the grey wire? if not make sure hot water off us wired in, take it to the grey wire and 2 of cylinder stat which is satisfied also known as normally closed.

This last paragraph is necessary as the heating does not get power to the boiler and pump it comes from the hot water so when hot water is not called for either by the programmer or by the cylinder stat it is sent by either the hot water off on the programmer or terminal 2 on the cylinder stat.

not sure what that means mate all i did was take the motor of the new valve a put on the old one and rewired it when i put the hot water or central heating on at the timer the correspoding lights come on on the valve but only the hot water starts the boiler could i have bought a faulty valve

Not likely to be a faulty valve. WHat you are trying to fix yourself is a compilexed piece of kit which even people in the trade get wrong.

You must get your head round what
i have said or get a professional.

so you only changed the motor ?
then you have a faulty microswitch if changing the motor hasn't done nothing.

i change the to half of the valve ie the blue bit from the link bellow

is that meant to read the top half of the valve ?

if so then you have a wiring issue as mentioned above.
is the the stat etc sending power to the valve white wire.?

when you wired in the new one did you get it right? yes? the do the tests I stated. no? then put it right?

sparky coming round tomorrow to have a look at it have noticed the lever on side of new valve is loose and has a lot of travel nearly 3/4 before it picks up the motor

cause its probably held in last position by the grey wire.

hope you asked this elecy if he know heating system wiring as most don't.

theirs only 3 wires need checking apart from E,N.
