Tiling on to MDF in a cloakroom

Hi,

Want to box some pipework in in my downstairs cloakroom and then tile over the top. Can I use MDF for this as it's unlikely to get wet (only a basin and WC in there)? Or should I play it safe and use marine ply or some such?

I'd box it in with plasterboard - it's dead easy to cut and is better to tile to than ply or mdf.
