the first "central heating" was in the war office back in ????

they had a fire in which cannon balls were heated until RED hot, then these cannon balls were "delivered" into a "basket" in each room.
And NO cannon balls are solid steel they do not explode as they do in the films.

And before anyone mentions the romans they had communial heating not central heating

Hmmm. I thought it was the Romans with their under floor heated water gullies? But hey - what did the Romans ever do for us- apart from!

Sorry Breeze for missing the last line but how was the 'communal' and not central? A villa with a big fire heating water going off to warm individual rooms sounds a big 'central heating to me'
Is this the five minute argument or the full half hour?
PS. Please don't shout, I have a hang over.
