trowels - pre worn

is there any distinguishing marks on a pre worn trowel for plastering? when to my local b and q today and there was loads on the shelves but i couldn't tell what the difference between a standard and pre worn was? any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Yeah the edges look like they've been tickled with a belt sander. Usually just about 1/4" though.

I didn't know they sold seconded hand tools or am i missing something ( being drunk and my B/D )

pre-worn trowels are sold with a slight camber on the blade preventing the trowel from getting stuck to a skimmed surface. this is only normally achieved with plenty of heavy trowel work.

thanks for the replies. the one i bought from b and q has what looks like 3-4mm of ground edge along the long edges so i think it must be preworn.

the marshalltown pre-worn trowels (permashape) have the red(ish) durasoft handle with gold caps at each end
also tend tohave pb in the model description ie MPB13DSS
