I am remodeling my kitchen and under all the layers I found uneven concrete. I am trying to match an existing wood floor built up on 3/4 wood . I plan on putting in ceramic tile and the concrete is almost 2" lower than finished wood floor. It also slopes to one side/ corner an additional 1 1/2 ". Any suggestions? A tile company suggested spreading thin set and while it was wet to pour cement on and bring up the existing floor to within 3/8" of finished floor level. Does this sound right?
