Is it acceptable to have: upstairs lighting radial and downstairs radial.. (Forget this bit its just for info - as I know thats acceptable!)

Say downstairs hall light (bottom of stairs) 2/3 way lighting (downstairs), and the 2nd or 3rd switch at top of stairs to turn this off...

Stairs and upperlanding light switch in same patress as above's upstairs switch and a 2way switch downstairs in the aboves patress on the gnd floor.

This just means that 2 patresses will be effectively fed from both upstairs and downstairs breakers.

The reason for having 2 radials is due to spot lights and a future extension.

If you have to isolate more than one circuit to make an enclosure safe for entry then this must be forewarned. Reg 514-11-01 specifically states that "A notice of durable material... shall be fixed [where] there are live parts which are not capable of being isolated by a single device."

So, engrave this information on each switch plate and you'll be fine! (Or, rearrange your wiring.)

Wiring hasnt been done yet! hence checking.

I dont really want to do one radial for all the lights, nor have a light and switch upstairs covered by the downstairs radial or vice versa.
