Is it possible to lay reclaimed parquet blocks upside down and then sand/plane them to a quality finish? I'm not sure if the 'tar' would clog up the sander or if the underside of the blocks are the same quality of finish.

I imagine the bitumen would clog the sander pretty quickly. Why do you want to lay them upside down?

Just though it may be an easy way of cleaning the bitumin from all the blocks and resurfacing at the same time.

If you just scrape off any big bits, you can get adhesive that's compatible with bitumen, nowadays. Or so the internet says; I haven't done this, yet, although I do have bags of reclaimed parquet in the shed, waiting for a room to put them in
