Urine-soaked floor boards (nice!)

I'm replacing the vinyl in the bathroom but on lifting the old one I've noticed the floorboards around the toilet are completely urine-soaked and stink!

I've left the vinyl off for about a month now and they still smell - I'm sure it'll go when I put the new stuff down but is there anything else I can do!?

take up the boards, fit new, lay the vinyl and put the WC on top, fine the males in your house and put them in charge of cleaning up, have a urinal fitted.

Scrubbing with bicarb might help. You will have to sponge up the fluid and not let it soak back in
