Vaillant ecoMax pro 28E

Considering it as a replacement....is it a good boiler?...any known issues? I will be using a condensate pump with it...

Views and advice much appreciated.

Apart from the display and pcb it is a glow-worm HXI and suprise it is cheaper.No serious problems encountered just the odd noisey one on start-up can be cured by de-ratring fan speed.

do you not mean the EcoTec pro 28.The Ecomax is differnet again.

The ecomax pro 28e is the HXI in disguise the only boiler they do for a normal vented system

Yes it is for an open vented system. Which is cheaper, Glowworm or Vaillant?...are there any better make/models for a similar boiler?

I was going to go for a change to a combi system, but cost, boiler location issues, and the fact combis have more bits that can and do go wrong and is a less DIY friendly system has put me off.
