Hi, builder did not install vapour barrier to dormer walls and ceiling below vented attic. Is there a vapour barrier paint in the UK? I have read other threads mentioning Bin Zinsser but they are refusing to tell me what the vapour resistance is (perm rating). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did the Zinsser rep not mention their Watertite paint? I have never used it. My understanding is that it is used in cellars to stop water from the outside.

It may or may not work for you. I honestly don't know.

    Thanks opps.

Zinsser won't commit to any of their products being used as a vapour barrier unfortunately.

I have found one from Benjamin Moore, a US company but the vapour resistance is not as good as a vapour barrier sheet.

I thought there surely would be some paint that performs as well as the sheet as effectively the sheet is just plastic that was in liquid form before drying.

Weird there is no company that has created a product for this yet as it is a money making machine!
