Hi,

I recently had to remove and refit my bath & basin so a plasterer could get to the walls. Somewhere in the process the basin has developed a slow drip. It's got a plastic S-trap like this:

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101958&ts=97796&id=51596

And the water collects at the bottom of the bottom bend.

I've fiddled with it and tightened it as much as I want to risk -- don't want to bust the thread or something. Anyone got any tips for this sort of thing? Is there a pipe sealant or something I can work into the joins? Or larger rubber rings or something?

Cheers!

Andrew.

You know, that's a very good point. As long as it wasn't me knackering it somehow in the process of fitting it.

I think the angle it's at is causing problems, I think I'll shorten the waste pipe it goes into (via a bendy extender) so I've got more freedom of movement. Do you need a pipe cutter for that or just a hacksaw?

Andrew.
