When cold water tank in the loft is emptying,the mains supplied cold water cuts in via the float in the tank, and very loud vibrations/noises travel up the cold water/mains pipe. The noise can be stopped by running the cold tap for a while. It can also be stopped by turning off the stopcock. Any ideas appreciated.
