Villager WoodBurning Fire

Hi I have a Villager AL (backboiler) Wood burner which am using just
as a fire, I understand the backboiler will have to be filled with either
Kilm Dried Sand (to heavy to move) or Vermiculite/Micafill other wise
the boiler may get damaged. Has anyone had this problem before and am I ok to go ahead with Vermiculite as a filler..
