My old VW Golf (G Reg) keeps losing power on the go. It always seems to start okay but then, once it gets going especially over 50mph and (strangely enough) uphill, it cuts out and sometimes completely stalls. Usually a few seconds wait and she's off again.

I though it was the leads so I changed them but it started doing it again recently and now it's a lot worse. It's almost like it can't keep up with fuel demand. It's done about 100,000 miles but I would like to sort it if it's easy and cheap to put right.

As Suggs has suggested plus 1) AIR FILTER
2) PLUGS
3) ANY IDEA WHEN THE OIL AND FILTER WAS LAST CHANGED ?

;)

Has anyone been working on the fuel tank or pipes? There could be a kink or the fuel and return pipes could have been connected back to front. Also make sure there isn't a fracture in the fuel line.

It was really simple! It just needed the fuel filter replacing. £2.69 in Halfords. Thanks for all your suggestions. :) :)
