Hey guys,

Two ceiling roses are wired as per picture. If replacing them with a ceiling light can someone explain to me how I can do this using Wago connectors? At my disposal I have 3-way connectors but can nip to Screwfix if need others.

Thanks.

Turn all power OFF and prove dead.

Remove the flex.

Remove the 2 blacks fit into a wagon this will be neutral on your new light.

Remove the 3 reds fit into a wago, this is the permanent live/ loop and doesn't connect to your new light.

Remove the single red and fit into a wago, this will be your live on your new light.

Same with the earths to earth your new light.

Don't mix them up, work safe always.

Show us a pic of the new light fittings base ,so we can see if the wago's can be accommodated within it ,and how you can connect the wiring up.

Thanks a million Pete. I'm not at the house now and won't be until Tuesday, but I will report back and if not, I've blown myself up! (haha joking).

Your advice worked a treat today Pete. Thanks.

Have another one for you that whilst I got it working today, did baffle me a bit.

It was an old lighting that had 2 separate earths and 3 wires coming from it. Of the 3 wires there was obviously a live and a neutral and I assume a 3rd earth? As the label had come off the wiring I worked on the assumption that the 2 wires with black markings on them were live and neutral, but what was what? After deliberating for some time I took a chance as I knew the worst that could happen was a trip. I placed the 3rd wire into its own Wago connector and of the 2 clearly marked earths, I attached one to the fitting bracket and the other I just left as it was.

PS: The second picture shows the third wire before I put it into Wago.
