Hi,

I am about to start decorating a room. The wallpaper is sound, but the paster beneath is blown.

Because I do not want to go down the replastering route this time round I would like to paper over the existing vinyl wallpaper with an embossed paper.

From reading, around it would seem I need to seal/prime the existing wallpaper before applying the new paper.

Can anybody recommend a sealer for the job in hand and has anybody had any experience of papering over paper?

Many thanks

Andy

p.v.a. all walls to seal, and paper on top, just like lineing paper seen int done many times ,if in doubt try one roll which is 3 drops of paper, ;)

Forget it..papering over paper is bad enough, papering over a vinyl is a complete waste of time and money.

You have more luck painting it with a couple of coats of soft sheen
