I would appreciate any help with this question: I have been advised that with an undermounted sink, if a waste disposal unit is fitted then it may need additional support. Has any member had any experience of this situation and/or can they advise the best way to provide the additional support?

I have had waste disposal units for 30 years, never supported 1.

This is due to the weight and therefor extra strain put on the sink joint , do you have a waste disposal already fitted, not very 'green' washing all your kitchen waste down the drains, and can cause blockage and encourage rats.

I don't use one of these units but I've fitted a couple - made by Insinkerator or something. No provision was made to deal with their weight, they just hang there. I did make sure the waste was securely clipped though.
John :)
