water too hot

please could someone shed some light on this.i have a back boiler which only has a stat on the fire/boiler.i have no room or cylinder stats.the trouble is as it is an old system to get the rads up to a half decent temp the water in the cylinder gets red hot.is ther anything that can be fitted in the pipework to have an independant control of the hot water.many thanks.

A zone valve and cylinder stat would do the job. If you had to renew your hot water cylinder perchance, it would be a requirement that you fitted these anyway
