Hi there,
Am moving a window in my hall up by ~15 or so inches to accommodate other building works.
I have installed the new higher lintels and the next job is to cut from the existing window up to these lintels...no big deal there.

A ive never fitted a window before & im wondering if i need to put any dpc into the cavity or whats the norm?

Its a 1950 block built house.

Also the cavity is ~2 inches...do i need to close this around the window and if so with what?
Cheers,
Martin.,

Cheers for that seems like a complete solution.
Just popped out the existing upvc window today and the only thing holding it in were a few bits of wedges of wood.
There were no cavity closers or dpc..the windows are in i guess ten years or so...should i bother putting these closers in given the fact that more than likely there are no closers anywhere else in the house probably!!(all the windows uld have been upgraded @ the same time long before i bought the house)...and this is the smallest wndow @ 22*36
Cheers,
Marty.
