Which CU?

Hi,

I have been recommeded a weatherproof CU MK5704 from TLC. I intend running 10mm2 SWA to the unit. I have read on the TLC site that it has 20mm knockouts and it looks plastic in its construction.

1. Will it being plastic affect my ability to terminate with a normal gland ?

2. The Gland required for 10mm2 appears to be 25mm. Do I therefore have to cut the hole bigger? (daft question I know) - but wont that compromise the weatherproof integrity of the CU?

Use a step cutter to enlarge the hole to 25mm making sure not to drill to far.

And use weatherproof glands ( CW's ).

May I ask why one has been recommended such an item?
