Hello

I am thinking of replacing a pull cord switch as the cord has broken.

Looking inside the switch there are 2 sockets each of which has 2 wires in it. Not clear why 2 wires in each?

The switch controls 5 ceiling lights and an extraction fan. There is also a shower in this bathroom but presumably this will be on a different circuit?

I see at the diy store that these switches are rated at 6 amp and 16 amp. Which do I use? Which part of this type of switch is rated 6 or 16 amp?

Cheers

Geoff

Then you need to find out what type of switch you have already and get a direct replacement.

The terminals (not sockets), what do they have written on them?

On the switch it will say the current limit of the switch. What does it say?

Thanks

Geoff
