I am planning to install a new chimney style hood as part of a complete kitchen refit and was hoping to conceal the wiring.
I am wondering if it is good or bad practice to wire the hood into an FCU which is hidden behind the chimney cover itself. Is this ok or is it best to have a more accessible switch to isolate the hood?

Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

A neat way to do it, is with an FCU just above the worktop (in line with all your other sockets and switches) and a flex outlet, high up beside the hood where it will not catch the eye but is visible and accessible for when you need to change the hood. The cable from FCU to flex outlet is chased into the wall and runs vertically.

Thanks guys, I'll change my wiring plan and make the switch accessible.
