Wiring to door contact

Hi how would the experts wire a door contact on this position, worried that the contact will be too far away from the facing, system not picked yet

Should say on the old door I recessed it into the frame

Surface white contact will fit.
Magnet on top of door and contact on frame, not on the architrave.
What panel are you using as you can get door slim door contacts with resistors built in.

Not made my mind up only doing this as I am lowering my hall ceiling and all the facings so this lets me rough this out. What I was worried about is bringing the cable through the bottom of the architrave and then the contact doesn’t sit near it so left with cable showing

Surface contact will fit with minimal cable showing........ remember think twice......drill once

Thanks I think I will leave it with the cable pulled through and wait to finish it when I have decided on the contact
