Worcester 24i Combi Boiler

Looking for some help here and not too sure if it has been asked previously so my appologise if it has.

I have a Worcester 24i combi boiler. The manual (analogue) timer has broken where it connects to the main section of the boiler and therefore no longer turns.

Is it possible to buy an external programmer and bypass the original timer? If so what would you recommend?

You can go for any timer really, I'd suggest a drayton lifestyle LP111 or similar. You can get them on ebay for around £15 and the wiring is straightforward with only 4 wires.. The alternative is to buy a replacement original item.
