Surely this has to be the most common cause of failure of wylex fuse boxes?

That's a really ancient fusebox - it's even got a wooden backing - I'm surprised it did not catch fire with such a load on it!

Ricicle: no...bog standard 30A fusewire.

Shows you how much you can overload a 3036 without it popping.

Overloaded by 45%+....

If you want instantaneous tripping on a 3036, you need around 2x the rated....

Any less and it will hold. The greater the overload the shorter the time it will remain intact, though. But I imagine with a shower only being on for 10mins, it was quite happy....
