I need to decorate below my dado due to some maintainance in the fireplace recess. I really don't want to remove the paper and radiators etc. to redecorate the whole room, it is a big lounge dining and it doesn't need replacing yet. It is a good quality neutral paper (not vinyl but has a soft sheen finish) I can't remove it the walls would need skimming.
I have decorated this house from top to bottom many times over the years and would never cut corners before, but my husband, best friend and jolly good labourer died in October, it takes so much longer working alone.
I have sanded a sample of the paper to make it sufficiently porous and applied a good quality soft sheen acrylic (which is an excellent match) and it seems to have worked.
Is there anyone out there that will tell me it is ok to go ahead
