I purchased this as a replacement for a different model that was twice the price but failed after a year or so. Let's see if this one lasts better! This unit has wires protruding from a sealed unit rather than accessible internal connections which makes it more weatherproof but means I needed to install a weatherproof external junction box

It's a very cheap sensor and I suppose you get what you pay for. There's nowhere to connect your own cables. Meaning you have to use connector blocks to wire it up. The top dome just lifts off and sits there with no securing screws. It probably worked ok but we never tried. I'm sure it would of been a matter of time and it would of gone wrong or fallen apart. We brought a more expensive type with terminal connections and decent securing screws. Buy cheap buy twice

This is a good quality piece of kit. It came with fixed mounted wiring so there was no need to take it apart and fiddle with internal terminals like the previous versions I have used. Made the job much more straightforward and quick. Arrived promptly and was well packaged. Thanks.

The sensor works ok but one fault with the design, it can only be mounted as in the image as the sensor is not secured to the mounting bracket, I needed to mount it upside down but was unable to do so. Also it is difficult to connect safely due the the wires being too short to connect in a weatherproof junction box

should have bought some years ago , I put them in my aviaries with low wattage bulbs so if the birds get disturbed they can see and don't crash into things.
