Great little item that fixed my CH. The Digistat SCR green light was on but we had no heat. I followed the instructions to remove the old capacitor from the SCR and solder in the new one, reassembled and now we have heat. Youtube is worth watching. Took me quite a bit longer than 5 minutes as I was very cautious not to damage the plastic casing but patience was rewarded.

This capacitor was purchased to replace one that had failed in a central heating control unit. It appears from other comments on the web that this failure is not uncommon. Failure of an X2 capacitor connected across the mains supply is not good. Capacitors of this type would be expected to last the life of the equipment in which they are fitted. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be an alternative capacitor that will fit on the printed board so I have had to replace like for like and may have to do the same thing again after another five or six years. Luckily, the failure of the earlier capacitor does not appear to have any safety implications.

Ordered this product and it arrived early and i used it as per the instructions. It sloved all my boiler/central heating problems and the system is working better than ever. I was looking at a central heating engineer to install a new system for around £200. This repair cost £3. Yes £3! BRILLIANT!! Thank you so much.

I bought this for a friend and fitted it to their Drayton SCR. I checked it before fitting that it was 0.68 uF +/- 10% which it was. The old one was also 0.68 uF +/- 10%. The unit still didn't work. I have diagnosed that a couple of "41 A" transistors are suspect and have ordered some BCX41 to try that. Meanwhile my friends bought a new unit for £45 on ebay. So it is a gamble. I have used similar capacitors for "mains dropping" before and never known them fail, but maybe this is different.

30 seconds with a soldering iron - two joins and back to having a nice warm house. Definitely a better option than replacing the whole receiver unit.
