Noddy was from Walsall which is about 5 miles from us. Thats not much better either.

The only thing going for it was the Arboretum Park lights every August / September which I always enjoyed every year. They now have been axed due to falling demand.

I was at Wolverhampton Poly for 3 years and I liked the place - mind you, I was drunk most of that time.

Manchester is a fantastic city - the best favour anybody did Manchester was the IRA. In half a second they achieved what the city would have needed 20 years to do.... and at no cost!

The worst place in Britain is definitley Burnley. According to a doctor friend of ours, Burnley has the highest rate of incestuous childbirth in the UK. For good reason the Blackburn fans taunt their deadly rivals up the M56 with a song thaty goes something like "Yer mother is yer wife.... yer father is yer husband...."

When the reviewer for the original 40 Crap Towns book went to Burnley he waited in Burnley Wood for a bus. He waited 45 minutes and when the bus came it was doing 60 mph and was on fire. At that point a car down the road exploded. That was when he decided to leave Burnley as fast as possible.

Manchester city centre is ok but go 5/10 mins down the road and its more than a eyesore.

I was in Burnley for a couple of weeks about 8 years ago, not sure what part but it did look run down and had a huge population of ethnics.

Thats why the Blackburn fans probably sing that song

Its the M65 and the words are, "yer mums yer dad... yer dads yer mum... yer interbread yer Burnley scum......"

wolvo even had a tramp living in a tent on the ringroad...
he was there for like 20 years or something..
he's dead now..

did they ever get round to putting the monument up to him Bacho?

yeah.. think it turned out that he was a war criminal in the end...

EDIT: no. my bad, they disproved that he was a member of the SS...

he left £90K of unclaimed pension when he died ( 22 years worth? )

in fact, this was him...
