So the politics of fear won out, and Scotland bottled it!

But the repercussions will probably have more impact on England than Scotland...

Further devolution for Scotland, but according to Camoron we will now get 'English votes for English laws'...

And that means a further entrenching of the Tories and marginalisation of any opposition...

And the result?

England will effectively be run by London and the South East, thus ensuring inequality will increase...

And given the slavish relationship to business, within a generation parliament will become irrelevant...

Had the vote gone the other way, an alternative fairer system could have come about north of the border that might well have been a beacon of hope...

It might still be a 'United Kingdom' in name, but welcome to corporate England!

So that's why it's 'Thanks for nothing Scotland'!

The politics of sense won the day. The silent majority as usual comes to the fore.
Good result for the Union.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.

No surrender and long live the Tories.

A big Orange order march should now be held in Glasgow to celebrate victory for the NO camp. And rub salt in the enemies wounds.

The nat rebels should hold their heads down in shame.

The best part of this is seeing the smirk wiped off salmonds face.
He should be hung, drawn and quartered now. I'll bet his hero is William Wallace.
Too bad he doesn't have an ounce of the courage wallace possessed.

My daughter said that one of her friends in Glasgow had her car vandalized, efin this and efin that and go back to England.

Part of the UKIP policy is to take some of the powers away from Westminster..

It hasn't done Farrage any harm, he will dine out on Cameron's last minute panic offers and gain even more support.

He was on good form this morning.

Glasgow, city of culture?

There's a strong social class slant to this... I wasn't surprised that working class Glasgow voted yes while middle class Edinburgh voted no, along with the moneyed farmers of Dumfries & Galloway.

I blame that idiot Mel Gibson for stirring it all up with his historically inaccurate jingoistic film.

You off, then?

We'll have to put up with a huge surge of Scotlands biggest export for months..... Whine.

All of it taken out of the same budget and higher taxes per head anyway....hmmm ok.

Taxes per head is only higher with oil, and without oil, 20% of those taxes is fromt the public service (funded by the same people taxing them).

And yet the oil will likely continue for some time and as such will still make up for the perceived shortfall. My comment was aimed purely at EddieM's clearly uneducated stab and twist.

If the "south" feel aggrieved by the 20% that they have imposed on themselves by putting those public services in Scotland they had best start making plans to remove them.

It might well 'start again' sooner than you think...

Let us suppose the nasty party win the election and camoron keeps his promise to hold his EU referendum...

Chances are the outcome would be to leave...

But what happens if the Scottish parliament, as is quite likely, votes to stay in?

I see another vote coming!

Oh, and Looky here
