Dear M.Barnier,

There was a vote to stay, a vote to leave

so if we resign our membership of the EU, and sign up new treaties for trade, movement, rules and citizen rights, while paying access fees and losing our voice and our vote in the debating chamber and the committees, while continuing to obey the rules that we didn't make, you'll have no complaint because we've given up our membership. That's useful to know. You didn't vote for what "leave" would look like because you weren't asked and had no opinion on what the terms would be.

I see you also speak for Judy.

i couldn’t care what we do right now. If we had another referendum i’d probably vote remain - only on the basis that we don’t have a clear policy for leave. They need to re-evaluate and start again. I’m still in favour of leaving the EU. it’s a dated, failed model that keeps europe squabbling over a slice of an ever shrinking cake while the rest of the world gets on with business.

Looks like more of a leadership challenge than anything brexit related.
That would be the most utterly stupid thing to do.
1 to 3 months wasted on a leadership challenge while the EU patiently waits at the negotiating table for the UK to turn up and tell them what we want.

Ooops, October is the deadline for the "negotiated trading arrangement" to be voted on in the EU parliament.

Personally I think the EU are the ones playing games (and winning apparently)
If waiting patiently at the negotiating table for the other side to turn up and start the 'game' is 'playing games' then I would have to agree with you.

Their 'game' is winning only because the UK refuses to play. The UK refuses to 'play' because they do not yet have a game strategy, one group are kicking one way while the others are kicking the other way (some are just kicking the ball out of touch because they are unsure what else to do), they have just lost a couple of their players through injury (and those injuries were caused in training!), they do not have any balls to practice with, they are still not sure of where is 'out of touch', they still do not fully understand the rules (or are blatantly ignoring them), the team are persistently fouling, and the captain insists on passing the ball when she should be keeping it, and keeping it when she should be passing it. She is only captain because no-one else wants the job!

If you believe in leaving, then stick to it...

But if is a 'dated, failed model that keeps squabbling' you wish to deride, then look no further than our own parliament!

This latest mess is (as always) about clinging on to power, and it's been all about political parties and egos for as long as we've had our undemocratic system.
The public who nominally elect them mean nothing to these political clowns!

We voted to LEAVE, end of. Not this crap being talked about, we are being sold out, all of us, remoaners , leavers & those who couldn't be arsed to vote.
You have identified the "why bother" argument.
The suggested Leave model is unsatisfactory for the Leavers, it is not as 'hard' as they want. It is unsatisfactory for the Remainers because it leaves UK in a far weaker position. So why bother!

I would suggest that before Camoron (in a desperate bid to remain in power) called the referendum, many of those who appear to now want an economy wrecking hard Brexit weren't that bothered about having a vote on the issue in the first place...

That would be the most utterly stupid thing to do.

So that's what they'll do, then.
