What's annoyed you?

People that hold up queues arguing over the price of an item annoys me………..

Servicing one of my mates cars has annoyed me. The fat **** has to have a spring replaced EVERY time I fix either of his cars. I don't know how he does it. Again, today, his old Mondeo has a broken rear spring. Should be a straightforward job but oh no, not his. Can't remove the pinch bolt to remove the rear strut so had to take the strut, hub, caliper carrier and disc off. Couldn't even take the carrier and disc off separately to lighten the load as one of those bolts were seized. Worse bit was trying to hold the whole lot up with one hand while trying to get a 6mm bolt in at the top mounting. I'm telling him to get rid of this by next year.

This is heavier than it looks!

Expected tipping annoys me. We went out with friends last night for a meal. Not a bad meal and good service but when the bill came, it was printed and itemised and it totalled £156.30. Underneath the total, somebody had hand written "Suggested tip : £15.63 and had 'kindly' added it up giving a handwritten total of £171.93. I thought that was a bit cheeky but my mate paid it (it was his turn to pay). I don’t know what I would have done. A tip was warranted but I think it should be completely at the discretion of the diner. Seems to be the norm these days. What do you think?

If tips annoy you here, don't go out to eat in New York. Waiters try to ingratiate themselves to enhance you ambience.

Yes, I can imagine, we had it in Disney about 25 years ago, a waitress sat down at our table and chatted with us while we were still eating. She said she was finishing her shift now and going home but not to worry - she had already added her tip to the bill and she would pick it up when she was next in!

As I understand it though, waiters in the US are paid F All as a base rate and the majority of their wages are made up of tips, hence the US generally good service/asslicky mentality.

I always ask to take the service charge off the bill.
Then give appropriate tip to the waiter in cash, if they deserve it.

Ever done a £5 brake caliper service kit on the rear of an Jag XJ?

I suppose if it stops them saying "there you go" when they dump a crooked plate in front of you, maybe it's worth something.
