Best TV Brand?

As said, I have 3x LG's - but I have no idea what this advertising space is, I've never seen it. What is it, when should it appear?

I don't know, I haven't been able yet to find anything out yet.

I'm just reporting what Which? and AVF have said.

My only wonder is whether I will appreciate the difference in picture quality between that for twice the money and, for example, this:

Go and see. Get a demo. Ideally side by side on same material and in 'filmmaker' or equivalent picture mode...
That's how I decided to get the top end set when I went OLED. I could see a difference.

WebOS --- it'll be the Home screen and likely can be turned off in a Settings options (in the main if not allfeatures) ... and unless one goes to Home screen on switch on (easily fixed to go to TV or another input source) then some may never notice.

It's a bit like entering iPlayer the BBC offers you a 'featured programme' ("advert") at the start! Same with Netflix and others.

Oh, OK - I have seen that on the two smaller sets, since the recent WebOS update.

In the video, it looks like you can't actually get the space back. If you turn the ads off it seems to use some sort of static placeholder instead. But in the video, as you scroll down, it disappears because it stays at the top, if that makes sense.

The problem lots of people seem to be complaining most about is that adverts, when playing, are distratcing and noisy. So turning them off art least solves that. If I have understood the video!

This seems to be what you end up with if you turn it off.

I've been using LG for years, but I needed a new TV for the kitchen this year, and the LG one was awful. I'm not convinced the antenna circuit board was even there tbh, the back was so flimsy it was ridiculous - no channels worked. And that was only discovered after their convoluted set up process which involved typing in email addresses and all sorts with a remote control. Took it back.

I was most impressed with a Bush, very nice and solid, very easy to set up. But the wifi didn't work. Took it back.

Ended up buying my son a new PC monitor, and taking a very old LG TV that he had been using as a 2nd monitor. Must be well over 10 years old, and works perfectly. Just one HDMI, but that's all I needed for my Chromecast.
