its taken allot of effort to make it last 18 years :) nearly as much effort as raising a child in that time, can a normal man replace a boiler ? i guess someone official needs to connect gas up ?

Ok , i have been on this forum quiet a few times over the years , and you guys have helped keep the Puma going , i just want to know if its still worth carrying on ... lol 1) Fan bearings are getting noisy 2) flow switch is sticking ( WD40 starting to not work ) 3) seems to be overheating...

ok , popped home at lunch , no time to check PCB , but boiler running fine. The Fan / bearings are pretty noisy ( i assume its fan , noise is up high in boiler ) I know bearings are cheap etc , but i assume to get to fan you have to go via the combustion chamber ? which i should not do...

ok , we had our Puma 80 for 16 years now . over that time pretty much everything has been replaced at some point ( love that morning i turned heating on to a circuit board catching fire ! , that woke me up ) anyway , during this year we have had a stick flow switch , now fixed now in the...

im pretty sure most parts have been replaced over the 15 years , main board twice ( caught fire on me when i turned it on at 6am ,.,. that wakes you up ) also my panel only has one screw in it now LOL .. anyway thanks for the advice .. will take a look .. Matt

will dig out model , sorry forgot to right it down. allthough its a Puma , but forgot model :) im sure after 15 years its due to be replaced ? but after replacing washing machine and fridge freezer last week ( why things all break at same time ) im feeling a bit tight LOL thanks for reply...

sorry ,.not got extact model , old 15 year old boiler , had many a repair man replace parts , its a potterten (sp ) make. anyway... does not happen all the time , which is annoying .. but basically turn hot tap on .. and water flows and gets hot ... boiler flames up good... then turn...

just re-reading my post ... ok i could still be stupid as i have seen things in the news that people have done the same .. and then burnt there house down.... does not mean a thing that sentace :lol:

well i assume i do need a plan to give the building regs people ? and that plan should have some detail on it ? thanks Matt
