Hi, I’ve ordered a new radiator and the lower connections where the pipes would normally connect are sealed up in a way that looks welded. The product photo online clearly shows the radiator connected to pipes at the bottom but I can’t see how this radiator could be used without being connected...
Thanks for the help! If I understand correctly I need to keep the wires connected in the same arrangement as present but in new wiring blocks (like below) including the three earths, as the new fitting doesn't have an earth terminal.
I am replacing a simple pendant light (see brown live, blue neutral) but its wired into a complicated wiring block. Three wires come out of the ceiling and are arranged into 2 black neutrals alongside the fixture blue neutral; 3 red loop wires; a black live, with the fixture live; and two earths...
Thanks for the response. That sounds like a good plan. I've opened up the boiler and you can see the live, neutral and earth of the power supply to the boiler. The thermostat is connected to 3 and 4. Can I just connect the blue core to the neutral of the power supply or should I move the live...
I'm replacing an old Honeywell CM907 thermostat with a Drayton Wiser smart thermostat.
The current thermostat is wired directly into the boiler (Vaillant EcoTec 831) and only uses a live a switch live. The new thermostat requires a neutral wire. I don't know how to wire in a neutral myself...
Hi Muggles, thanks for the response. I have a Vaillant ecoTec plus 831
Here is the wiring diagram for the system I am considering. Would I be correct in saying the live A would become 1 COM, and the switch live B would become 3 ON?
I've moved into a new house and I'd like to upgrade to a smart thermostat, such as the Draton Wiser. Self installation seems do-able but I don't understand my current Honeywell thermostat CM907.
Most smart thermostat install guides show many wires coming into the backplate of the existing...
