I have tried straighten the cable and using a small screwdriver to pull the orange thing under it but it just won't go in. Any ideas if I am doing anything wrong with the small orange thing beneith? Can't get it in and been trying 30 mins.

OK, batteries have been out for an hour now and thermostat display has went off. Does this mean that this is not hardwired to the thermostat after all?

I am guessing someone to hard wire the receiver into my boiler and then replace then install the thermostat with batts installed. Any idea on UK cost?
