My first big tiling job. It's a wet room and I'm at the stage where I have Marmox boards on floor and walls and an Impey former. I'm just about to put down the Impey Waterguard membrane and the instructions specify priming with the supplied Bal APD primer.
I tested the BAL primer inadvertently...
Thanks everyone for the comments. Various ideas from this and other forums and I think I am plumping for glass bonded to primed backer board with dot and dabbed silicone with the flush junction with all tiles as a 5mm silicone joint
I'm looking for advice on how to fix two 6mm toughened, backpainted glass panels to a Marmox board substrate. The first picture shows the current state of the installation. The second picture is a computer generated visualisation of how its intended to look. I'd like to have the glass flush with...
Thanks oldbuffer for such a prompt reply and such practical suggestions. I had thought about trying to solder the extension on to the elbow. Would that work with a tight screwed joint?
I will use one of your suggestions but is it a bit odd that deeper elbows don't exist?
I'm installing a shower head elbow wall plate (for the first time). The depth of the 1/2 inch threaded socket isn't enough to clear the depth of the backer board (see attached picture) plus a further 12mm of tile and adhesive. The joint between the shower arm and the elbow would be right in the...
I'm doing a wet room and I am just about to lay the Impey aqua dec linear 2 shower former and attach tile backer boards to the stud wall.
I feel that I should put the former down first, butted right up to the studs in the stud wall then install the backer boards so they hang over the lip of the...
Many thanks, Hugh, for giving me the advice and prod that I needed. I will fear the soil pipe no more! I've attached not great photos but hopefully you can see that I have followed your suggestion including turning the junction at the bottom of the vent pipe around. I feel much happier now...
Your 45degree suggestion appeals. If the angle can't be 45 would you use something like this or would you opt for your other suggestion of a 90 drop...
Thanks Hugh. Sounds like good advice. It certainly didn't look great to me. I have already removed the dead leg, that was easy. I will try your other suggestions. Unfortunately its not as easy in real life as it is on the computer; access is really restricted , but it has to be done.
