    Calor gas heaters

Thanks for the reply but it isn't that cold here. I have checked everything I possibly can and as I said, it was working with the old gas bottle before I changed it. If anyone can think of anythin else that it might be, please let me know, I'm getting desperate

    Calor gas heaters

I hope someone can help! I have a calor gas heater and it's just run out of gas. I've put a new bottle on, fitted the valve back (which isn't very old) and it won't light! The bottle has been stored outside and may have got wet although there was a plastic protective cap on it. Does anyone have...

    non existent hot water pressure

Blimey gentlemen! You're certainly going to get us working for our money  ok, here goes with a few answers: Softus, 1. I think it's a one hole monobloc. I can get over there at the weekend and have a look. 2. Will also look at the basin taps in case there's any little presents inside...

    non existent hot water pressure

The mains water runs fine. Her washing machine seems ok, I'm presuming that is just cold fill from the mains, so has never caused a problem. I'll get her to look at the taps, although isn't it a little odd that it would be all the hot taps? Thank you for your help so far :)

    non existent hot water pressure

The kitchen tap is a mixer. Bathroom sink is two separate taps. Can't remember what the bath taps are  They are not modern, high tech taps! We tried the blowing method in case there was an airlock but it didn't help.

    non existent hot water pressure

I've searched through all the posts and can't find an answer to my query. My daughter has a small flat. Her cold water in bathroom and kitchen are fine, but the hot water just trickles. It's been like this since she bought the flat a year ago! She has asked her neighbours in identical...

    Lead Flashing

Does anyone know if I can paint lead flashing instead of using patination oil? If so, is there a special paint and will I still get the white streaks running down when it rains? I had lead flashing put on a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't treated

    Lead Flashing

 listen mate ........... after having to redo my buider's mistakes, including a downpipe that was put in 1 foot from the drain, so the water soaked into the side of the house, I can't trust plumbers either! A few years ago, we had a plumber in to redirect some guttering. It cost...

    Lead Flashing

one more question ..... because it is covering the top of some wood, which is varnished in rosewood, could I not paint it instead, as I think it may look nicer? If I can, what preparation, so I don't get the streaks coming down, and what is the best paint? :)

    Lead Flashing

Not quite a dodgy roofer - more a crap builder! Have been trying to sort my down pipes today! May ask questions about them as well! Thanks for the reply. I have fine wire wool, presume that will be better, but how should I clean it before going over with patination oil if it mustn't be wet?

    Lead Flashing

I have just had lead flashing put on top of a flat roof and have been getting white streaks down the woodwork after it has rained. I went to get some patination oil today, but they said you should only use it on new lead. Can I just paint the lead (any special type of paint), or any other...

Radio interference from my central heating

Hi gordon, just looked and it's a Potterton Kingfisher. The boiler is in an outhouse but the control timer is upstairs in the airing cupboard. It's the timer I have turned to prove that it's the central heating that is affecting my tv and radio.

Radio interference from my central heating

For the past few years, I have been getting intermittent interference on my TV and radio. I discovered last week that it was the central heating! (each time it happened, I turned the heating swith off and it stopped)! My central heating system is very old but boiler only a couple of years old...
