Are you saying the scale build up is just likely to be "catching" as it turns the corner coming out of the top of the pipe - or could this be furring of every pipe in the house?!!! Someone (off forum) also said that the tank could be filling with scale like a kettle and is "kettling" - but I...

I have just made the mistake of using clear knotting compound "suitable for use with woodstains and varnishes" on new skirting board and then varnishing with Ronseal Dark Oak varnish. The knoting has shown through as it is NOT suitable for use with varnish. What do I do? Sanding hasn't helped...
