Do you fella's have any thoughts on this boiler regarding reliability. My other half has one and the bloody thing has broken down 4 times in 2 weeks due to some circuit board giving up the ghost. Are they normally this hateful?
Yeah its a sealed system so that's a good start.
Just to give you an idea bodge it and leg it who quoted for the job wouldn't give me much change out of £4500! No joke.
Did give me a giggle.
Because I don't hold the money Tony the Charity does, have you not been reading these posts? Besides, do you 'really' think after 3 years with no heating or hot water I'm going to 'change my mind'?
If I had £1k in cash I still wouldn't accept those terms. Watch cowboy, builders they are...
I was under the impression that new boilers worked at a higher pressure than the old one.
Quote from one of the installers " IMPORTANT NOTICE: New boilers work using water at high pressure. For this reason existing pipework and radiators can not be guaranteed"
Probably relating to age...
Ah, you know that never occurred to me!
When you consider this Icon t23/Glow worm/Travis Perkins special is 11 years old and 8 when it went south that's a pretty valid point!
What's the likely difference between the two types of boiler regarding system pressure, most of the new units are...
Not much more money for a reasonable increase, problem is keeping to the budget. As my highest quote was £1739 I'm looking to try and get the intergas under that price quoted which probably means a 24/18.
Think I'll have to put up with the reduced hot water output just so I can have my...
Quote 4:
Someone's clearly in the Christmas spirit!
Supply Main 30He combi and wireless stat.
Remove existing boiler and alter pipework, test gas supply.
Flush system and add additive and commision boiler.
Clean up and remove condemned boiler.
Christmas day guess the price. The...
Come to think I had exactly the same problem with this old Icon t23 on the off chance it did work properly before dying..
Heating was always pretty good but running hot water was always a ball ache in as much as the water needed to be nearly dripping out (very slow flow rate) before it was...
Iddy, I'll be in touch on the PM fella!
3rd quote:
Ideal Logic+
Wireless Room Stat
Inhibitor and Magna Clean
Electric Costs:
7 T.R.V?
No cover on existing rads, condense 1 1/4 pipe
£1739
(Que Beavis and Butthead) Uh, ha, ha, ha, ah, uh, ha.... he said w@nk rag < my lad thought that was highly amusing ha!
So Intergas it is then! Is a 24kw OK for 7 rads?
Thanks Dan!
It's probably cheap because we are in Wales up in the sticks and fitters are finding work hard to find or so I was told this evening. Sign of the times..
Tony to be honest I've not heard of either. The only boiler I could remember was the Worcester, we had one years back and it did OK, very...
