We have no water pipe at ther rear of the house so cant install an outside tap, and we are in the middle of a terrace so we cant drag a pipe round the outside, so we need to connect it to under the kitchen sink. We seem to have an extra cold waster washing machine inlet with its own on/off...

Don't worry, got some Corgi plumbers out this morning and there was a blockage in the condesate pipe which they managed to shift. Seems prone to Ideal boilers!

Sounds exactly like what is happeneing with our boiler. Were you able to clear out the trap yourself or do you have to have an engineer do it? Also did you get any further with Ideal in terms of complaints.
