batterie fully charged, and all fuses working, yep passable the starter is jammed, but don't understand why ignition lights on the dash will not come on when key turned, thanks for reply

hi all, hope someone can help, i have a MG zr+ on an 03 plate. the starter motor started too make a noise like the teeth were worn out, but now the dash board lights have gone off, and when key turned too start, they stay off, and doesn't start?????? any ideas welcome please
