Thanks for all your help. The valve is installed with no leaks, had a bit of trouble getting the valve off until I realised there was a very rusty retention clip holding the valve onto the boiler. Should I replace this clip?

Hi again. I've finally managed to get the part, am planning on sorting it out tomorrow. Will I have to completely drain the central heating system to replace the valve?

I think the part I need is 10023567. Should I just get this: http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/product/vokera-10023567-c-water-inlet-valve/ from the local Plumb Centre? Is it just a case of draining down, removing the filling loop and fitting the replacement valve?

The filling loop seems to have started leaking from the tap handle, I have adjusted the handle slightly to slow down the leak but cant stop it. Can I just drain down and replace it with a filling loop like this http://www.screwfix.com/p/r24-filling-loop/83905

I recently discovered the kitchen mixer tap was leaking. I removed the screw holding the head on but can't remove the head. I was using so much force that I was worried I might break something. Here is a picture of the tap, it was a phillips head screw that I undid.

That's correct, took it off for the plasterer and didn't realise how heavy it would be. Will hopefully have someone round next week to see what they think about chasing the cables.

The TV is a hand-me-down, the chimney is bricked up and I don't plan on using it as a flue. Think I will just put as many cables as the conduit will take and live with it! Maybe put a brush plate on the corner. Are there any recommendations for the distance between power cables and A/V...

I hadn't thought about that. Having just had a look at some, I'm annoyed that you can get ones with lights in the centre so could have got that installed instead of the downlight.

Maybe I should try that first, although it's starting to bubble in areas. With the amount of other work we want to do around the house I wouldn't mind a temporary solution for the shower room. So I will try the joss sticks to see if it can pull the smoke from the ceiling, but it looks like...

When we first moved in I realised that there was a recessed incandescent (non IP) bulb directly above the shower and then a 3 spot incandescent in the centre of the ceiling, zone 2. After getting these replaced with properly IP rated units the condensation was then trapped in the shower room...

That is mould, it is just underneath that patch that the builder has suggested installing a new fan . There are no leaks what level of humidity is normal in the house?

What is the solution? I don't think the current fan is powerful enough and I also think it's incorrectly placed.
