Hi Pablow, boiler shouldn't be used with the covers off because positive pressure is needed in the case to vent any escaping CO. That way you'll wake up in the morning if there's a problem :shock: My Stelrad had a mind of its own, ignoring the controls & no one diagnosed it correctly but...

shouldn't worry 'bout swarming, they're solitary like bumble bees ! the holes they use are usually already present in the mortar, so don't squidge 'em as they're part of the pollination nation ! :D

If they're really small bees then you've got "masonry bees" :shock: as you've probably guessed that's where they build their gaff ! as to whether the damage they do is cause for concern - pass ! but I quite like them !! :D

boiler is Stelrad Ideal Classic NF40. He meant the spindle was stiff to turn & that the head would need replacing. I'll have to check out the rest & get back many thx for your input :wink:

Hi, my c/h is currently misbehaving & hope u can help. For example, with the c/h & h/w set to run continuously & the room stat set at 30 deg, the boiler fires up & eventually shuts off but won't come back on again without switching the boiler off & on (repeatedly). If the c/h hasn't come on...

G'day, I've a Stelrad Ideal Classic NF40 boiler with a Honeywell ST6300A programmer & H/well T40 t/stat in the lounge.The ch comes on at the right times, cuts out as you'd expect but then refuses to come back on other than by turning the boiler off & on. Anyone know what's playing up ?
