    Hi, Thanks for your reply. We cannot leave the trimmer in becuase it is resting on the chinmey/wall which is going to taken down. We have thought of sistering the joists, with a 3 foot overlap and securing with a number of bolts? Thanks, Charlotte

    Hi all, Thanks for all your advice. We have decided to remove the cistern for plastering and just use a bucket of water and when we need to. Then we can keep the pan in place until we swap over with the new loo.
