Thanks very much for these various suggestions. On reflection, I think putting the cable in conduit is pointless.

I want to run a cable in oval conduit with a 90 deg corner and plaster over it. It would seem sensible to mount a recess box at the corner, so that the corner is identified and so that the cable can be replaced in future. There will be no connections in the recess box; the cable will simply pass...
