I've been looking at draining solutions in our back garden/patio. The old block paving is pooling in some areas and whilst investigating, I've found what seems to be a small area near the fence where water is draining into. I really don't want to dig up too much until I get professionals in for...
the trench will be starting alongside two paving slabs (which are in front of the door) and it will then follow along to the left side of the house where there's a drain on the side. There's another driveway there and garage so would rather drain it either in the ditch or link it to the roof drain
thank you. the drain i mentioned is for rain water, but if we decided on creating a french drain then would need to ensure it slopes to that properly. Worried about getting that wrong and it doesn't drain properly and causes a worse situation, so maybe easier just to fill the small trench with...
Hi All
New house has front garden with a bit of a slope (towards the house) and the grass comes up to the brick, no drain or gravel separation. It's been like this for many many years. No damp issues and DPC is above where is meets.
Wondering how bad this is for the foundation? We are thinking...
Yeah I read round is a lot easier to work with. Had hoped square would work as matches the house but seems that's it's just not possible with some circle in there :-(
Yeah I did wonder if I'd need to go square to circle just to get around corner than back to square again where I link to branch? Seems an absolute faff. I have the main section up already
Thanks yeah that's the idea is to route it around and attach to the main downpipe. Horizontal seems the only way due to square angles but even the corner parts are Toolstation are 92 degrees. Worth a go, otherwise I'll bin the idea
Any thoughts on this? Ive got the gutter up with end outlet near the wall and a 112 degree bend attached away from it. I've tried a few different sections but can't figure out how to route around the corner and line up well with the branch piece that will be attached to the main downpipe
Hi,
I'm adding guttering to one side of a porch because that side is constantly dripping on us and also lands on some patio and collects for a while. See pic below.
I've gone with black square guttering to match the house and I'm trying to figure out the best solution for directing it around...
gave the thermostat a good clean, set temp on boiler to around 5 and made sure the water was hot (only needed 10 mins) - temp has now increased in the rads to just over 60.
Think it was the mechanical thermostat in hall way that knocks the pump off and it needs replacing. It clicks but is...
